Synopsis
H.I. McDunnough is the type of criminal that has a fetch of robbing stores with a shot gun that has no bullets. He would go about and rob but he had always, the bad timing or luck that he would always get caught.
Hi went through the process several times and got to share minutes looking at Edwina. Then one of those times, that he was being taken a picture by Edwina, he saw her crying. Edwina told Hi that because her financé left her.
This made H.I. really mad and told Edwina to let him know that he is in jail but to look or him. At this moment, Edwina was very shocked to get that type of attention from a person that was being processed. Then on the last time hi was being processed he made contact with Ed and put a ring on her. Then in the jail cell, for the very first time H.I. felt that he was doing hard time.

They loved their time together and even thought that they where very privileged to enjoy nature and each other to a point that they didn't deserve it .

The day that they kidnap the baby, that night H.I. slept and had an apocalypse dream. He must have been worried of the parents of the baby. He didn't know that he feared that he was the one to release him in his dreams.

Hi decided to rob a store with Edwina in the car also with Jr. but Edwina was clueless of what was going on Until through the window of the store she saw H.I. pointing the gun at the register boy. Then Edwina started cursing H.I. and left him there. Shortly, after H.I. runs out to get in the car but Edwina left him behind and minutes later the police is following H.I. down the street.

Meanwhile, The Gale and Evelle decided to take the Jr. and cash in for the reward but they where planning to go rob the bank at Hayseed bank in town. When they finished robbing the bank they stopped at a store to get items. They left Jr. into the top of the car and drove off. Then after a couple of minutes they realized that Jr was not in the car. They started yelling from the top of there lungs.

Then H.I. reached Gale and Evelle but the money bag exploded and the blue dye disoriented them. When H.I. asked about Jr. they said that they left him behind. Shortly, after H.I. and Edwina ran off to find him but soon after the bounty hunter coming driving madly and gets Jr. at the same time they H.I. and Edwina arrive. Then H.I. somehow gets Jr. and then the bounty hunter and H.I. began to have a bloody fight. The bounty hunter really did do some damage to H.I. face but H.I. managed to pull the pin from his vest. The bounty hunter was shocked and reacted to late and blow up.

In the final scene, H.I. had another dream that voluntarily Gale and Evelle went back to the whole they came out. Then he keeps dreaming that Jr. receives a football from an anonymous couple, so later he becomes a football star in high school. Then final shoot in the movie was an elderly couple that was happily living together. They had a big family with their children all grown up and grandchildren fulling up the dinning room table. As H.I. summaries the ending saying if he didn't dream it then is was a good thought.

Commentary
Raising Arizona is an allegory that defines the challenges of having a family. H.I. and Edwina where on different ends of paths but that moment that they connected it was automatic and quickly they joined in marriage. Edwina what to start a family and they begin to try but they had no idea that she was be barren. She was a successful career woman and justice was a part of her life. until she found out that she was truly barren. Quickly, she realized that by not being able to carry a child, she too became an out law out of pain. She didn't care what laws she would break because "she only handle what she can". She understood at the end of the movie that doing right was more powerful then breaking the law. They both grew in the course of passing the mission of taking care some else baby. They had no idea what a family meant and in top taking care of baby. The last dream that H.I. had represent what a family meant. Could it be wishful thinking or a good dream? But being old and having your children all grown up and having the grandchildren in one big table is the biggest joy any person can experience. There is no money or material belongs that can ever replace that feeling.
